Customer case: Værnesregionen IT (VarIT)
Identum solves both complex and simple tasks
Anne Kari Ravlo, who has extensive knowledge of purchasing and managing IT systems, emphasises how important the built-in wizard in Identum's IAM solution is for them. It simplifies the customisation of automation, access management and communication. The robust IAM solution from Identum gives Værnesregionen IT (VarIT) increased efficiency and great savings in both time and money.
The challenge
Værnesregionen IT is a service collaboration for the municipalities of Frosta, Meråker, Selbu, Stjørdal and Tydal. An association of municipalities known for their magnificent nature and innovative approach to technology.
Like many other organisations, VarIT has faced a common challenge: efficient allocation and management of user accounts and access control.

It became clear that an IAM solution that is both efficient, secure and user-friendly was high on the wish list.
With a diverse range of programs and applications in use, as well as a complex organisational structure with unique needs, it was important that the IAM solution could meet the following requirements:
- Easy-to-use interface
- Simple wizard built into the tool
- Capable of solving both simple and complex tasks
- Flexible, adaptable and future-proof
The result: Overview and control
Identum's user-friendly interface and simple wizard for creating complex automation, means that both simple and complex tasks can often be automated by the customer themselves.
Since the solution is easy to understand, more of the employees can perform tasks in Identum's products. This means that the Værnes region is less vulnerable in the event of absence or when employees leave.
Anne Kari also highlights the savings that this entails:
"Since we can do a lot ourselves, we are not so dependent on suppliers and consulting services."
In concrete terms, the transition to Identum has meant that the Værnes region has reduced its IAM-related consultancy costs by as much as 80%. That's a significant reduction in these costs, especially considering that the region has also achieved greater freedom of action and increased opportunities for expanded functionality.
"The automated workflows we can create with Identum's tools free up many resources for other important tasks such as development. We haven't been able to quantify this in monetary terms, but it's very clear that it saves us a huge amount of time."
