Customer case: Norlandia Group
Automated onboarding and freed-up resources with Identum
Amanda Teglund is both a system owner and HR consultant at NHC Group. She quickly went from a supporting to a leading role during the implementation of Identum's IAM solution for the Norlandia Group. The enormous potential for improved efficiency and increased synergies between HR and IT was one of the main reasons.
Meet Norlandia
Norlandia, a large organisation with a complex system architecture, was looking for a solution to streamline and improve their identity and access management (IAM). They wanted to automate employee lifecycle processes such as onboarding, crossboarding and offboarding, while improving the employee experience.
The challenge
Norlandia faced the challenge of managing a large and diverse workforce with complex IT needs. It needed to streamline the labor-intensive manual processes associated with user license administration and access management.
A lack of control in these areas often led to delays and inefficiencies, especially when new employees started or ended their role. This created both a noticeable workload for the HR department and department managers, as well as an undesirable experience for employees who expected a smooth transition into their roles.
Norlandia needed a reliable solution that could integrate seamlessly into their existing infrastructure while providing better insight and control over access rights.
The solution
Norlandia chose to go for Identum's eADM solution in collaboration with IKOMM. From day one, Norlandia experienced good communication and project management. Identum ensured that Norlandia felt confident throughout the process by sharing experiences from previous projects and offering quick and educational support when questions arose.
The focus was on automating identity and access management, with particular emphasis on streamlining communication around onboarding, crossboarding and offboarding.

The challenge
At the heart of the Værnes region, a federation of municipalities known for its magnificent scenery and innovative approach to technology, Værnesregionen IT (VarIT) faced a familiar challenge: efficient allocation and management of user accounts and access control.
With a diverse range of programs and applications in use, as well as a complex organizational structure with unique needs, it was important that the IAM solution could meet the following requirements:
- Clear interface
- Simple wizard built into the tool
- Capable of solving both simple and complex tasks
- Flexible and adaptable

eADM from Identum - Overview and control
eADM's user-friendly interface and simple wizard for creating complex automation means that both simple and complex tasks can often be automated by the customer themselves.
Since the solution is easy to understand, more of the employees can perform tasks in eADM. This means that the Værnes region is less vulnerable in the event of absence or when employees leave.
Anne Kari also highlights the savings that this entails:
"Since we can do a lot ourselves, we are not so dependent on suppliers and consultancy services."
In concrete terms, the transition to eADM has meant that the Værnes region has reduced its IAM-related consultancy costs by as much as 80%. That's a significant reduction in these expenses, especially considering that the region has also achieved greater freedom of action and increased opportunities for expanded functionality.
"The automatic rule sets we can create with eADM free up many resources for other important tasks such as development. We haven't been able to quantify this in monetary terms, but it's very clear that it saves us a huge amount of time."
Saw the potential early on

I've gradually taken on quite a big role in this project. Partly because I've had a good overview of the moving parts, but primarily because I saw the enormous potential for value creation.
